Roller Blades and Roller Skates

 

Well, in those days, when Jesus was alive, there weren’t any cars, or buses, or skateboards. Everyone had to walk everywhere. If they wanted to cross water then they would use a boat, but they didn’t have engines in them, they used oars and rowed themselves across the water. If they had a long journey to go on, they would climb onto some animals, and make the animals do the walking. In the same way that people travel on horses today, they used to use camels and donkeys.

Mary and Joseph had to go on a really long journey, just before Jesus was born. They used a donkey to help them on their journey.

When the Three Wise Men came to see baby Jesus, they used camels to travel across the desert.

The disciples usually walked to the places they wanted to go to. If there was water to cross then they would use a boat.
